JUDICIAL BRANCH NEWS
On behalf of Judge Norko and Judge Bozzuto and the Judicial Branch's Self-represented Parties Workgroup, we announce that the Hartford Volunteer Attorney Program will resume on October 3, 2012 at 90 Washington Street in Hartford.
The Judicial Branch is once again seeking volunteer attorneys to participate in this program and provide legal assistance and advice to self-represented parties who have or may be commencing domestic and/or family support magistrate cases.
If you wish to participate in the Hartford program, please complete the application and return it as per the instructions on the application.
The Judicial Branch is committed to providing equal access to justice to all of Connecticut’s citizens and we look forward to working with all of you on this very worthwhile endeavor.Please do not hesitate to contact Krista Hess with any questions.

ASSOCIATION HONORED FOR SECOND YEAR
For a second consecutive year, the Hartford County Bar Association was voted the silver winner in the "Best Bar Association" category of the Connecticut Law Tribune's The Best Readers' Poll. The online readers' poll asks readers to cast their votes for the best goods and services in the legal profession. The survey serves as "a measure of the loyalty and satisfaction readers have with vendors and is an opportunity for readers to speak up for those providers they believe are the best."

HISTORY COMMITTEE UNVEILS PUBLICATION ON HCBA PRESIDENTSIn recognition of the Association's anniversary year, the History Committee distributed a publication on Bar Association Presidents. The compilation, made possible through the support of Lexis Nexis, contains biographical sketches of all deceased past-presidents beginning in 1886, and, quotes from all contemporary presidents.

225th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION RESOUNDING SUCCESS
On December 8, 2008, the Association celebrated its 225th Anniversary at a grand reception and dinner held at the Hartford Marriott Downtown Ballroom. Historic memorabilia surrounded the over three hundred attendees. The event was marked by a special tribute to the Association's esteemed past-presidents and the engrossing keynote address delivered by U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd. The Association received proclamations in honor of the event from Governor Rell and the Connecticut Bar Association.
